Why do we need to BELIEVE that we are a child who is truly loved by God?
Because when we doubt His love, when we’re unsure if the very One who made us could actually and truly love us, then we’re left to live from a place of striving and working to measure up.
When we don’t believe we’re loved by God then we try to fill the void with the love of others, with the love of money or things, with the love of accolades or titles or our own good works.
The more we believe that we’re really loved, the more we can rest, trust, and receive from God, just like a child.
How do we believe this way?
Jude 1:20-21 says,
But you, my delightfully loved friends, constantly and progressively build yourselves up on the foundation of your most holy faith by praying every moment in the Spirit.
Fasten your hearts to the love of God and receive the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who gives us eternal life (TPT).
We believe by spending time with our Creator and His Word, listening for our Father’s voice.
We believe by receiving His love, His correction, His leading.
We believe by learning to stay connected to the Lord through talking to Him, listening to Him, and fastening our very lives to Him - like a child holding a parent’s hand.
We believe by trusting and obeying what God’s Word and His Spirit speaks.
Let's Pray
Father, in Jesus name, thank you for loving me as your child.
Sometimes it’s hard to truly believe. Sometimes I forget.
Help me believe and receive the love that you have for me.
My heart is fastened to you; I’m holding your hand.
Your love is the best love and I choose to believe it and receive it!
Thank you, Father!
I love you too.
❤️
