The LORD is my Shepherd - Our Prayer, Declaration, and Song

As a little girl I believed in Jesus as the Son of God and my personal Savior, and the result was feeling His presence with me. Whether I was playing outside under the big blue sky or singing quietly and daydreaming within the walls of our white brick home, I sensed so strongly that God was with me.

This is my prayer for you and me today, that we would feel the presence of God so strongly that we would know He is with us. We are never left alone to manage our lives without Him. With God in our heart, we can face anything and everything - nothing is too big or too small. We can lean on Him for every challenge without fear or frustration by acknowledging our need for Him. We are in need of His presence, His guidance, His help. We are dependent on the Lord and He is right here with us. Let us look to Him as our Shepherd and Guide, the LORD of our lives. When we look to Him, He will lead. He will show us how to be like Him. He will quiet the enemy. And He will always stay present. Jesus is our near Shepherd forever!

Psalm 23 (NKJV) - With Our Response

The Lord is my shepherd;

Jesus - You are God and You are shepherding me. I am Your sheep.

I shall not want. 

You truly take care of me and provide all I need. I trust You.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures;

Sometimes You lead me to a stopping place - a place of resting and listening instead of doing.

He leads me beside the still waters. 

This is a healing place. It may seem quiet, but a deep work is being done.

He restores my soul;

This is where You right me and make me new!

He leads me in the paths of righteousness

Jesus, You are showing me how to be like You.

For His name’s sake.

My life is for Your glory. I will go with You wherever You lead.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

Lord, You are with me and this life is not the end.

I will fear no evil;

You are for me and in You, Christ Jesus, I am victorious.

For You are with me;

I am never alone, never without Your presence!

Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

I totally trust and rest in Your correction and protection.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;

Lord Jesus, You are seated and in control. We are feasting, and darkness cannot touch me in Your presence.

You anoint my head with oil;

You have chosen me and made me a beloved child of God!

My cup runs over. 

I am blessed beyond measure. I live to give You thanks and praise.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me

Your love never gives up on me, it just keeps chasing me down!

All the days of my life;

Life with You is best and beautiful and it will last forever.

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

There is no greater joy than to be with You Jesus, my perfect Shepherd.
